I came to Nagasaki with my friends. We stayed at Fukuoka and traveled around. We spend 1 day trip in Nagasaki on 12 Nov 2014. After took Ltd.exp.Kamome from Hakata station for 127 minutes, we met an attractively port city named Nagasaki.

There’re many attractive places valuable for visiting, but we had only one day. Since Nagasaki has played a prominent role in foreign trade relations for many centuries and was the most important of only a very few ports open to restricted numbers of foreign traders during Japan's period of isolation. We’d like to see how they were.

The main places we selected was The Glover garden. We took the tram no.3 from Nagasakieki-mae to Suwajinja-Mae. Suwa shrine is is the major Shinto shrine of Nagasaki, Japan, and home to the Nagasaki Kunchi festival. It is located in the northern part of the city, on the slopes of Mount Tamazono-san, and features a 277-step stone staircase leading up the mountain to the various buildings that comprise the shrine. So beautiful!

From Suwajinja-mae to Nigiwabashi by the tram lines number 4, we walked to the Spectacle Bridge “Megane bashi”, over the Nakashima River. It’s the oldest stone arch bridge in Japan and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. It received the nickname "Spectacles Bridge" because its two arches and their reflection in the water create the image of a pair of spectacles.

Many students come here, take photo with fun. I’m really happy to see them taking photo.

When we’re waiting for the tram line no.4, a group of secondary school came to me and asked about peace in English. This’s an English lesson, they’re practiced to talk with the foreigners with English. How smart they were! Look what they gave me…. 2 little origami cranes .. sign of peace.. So meaningful!

After that, we took the tram line No.4 to Shokakuji-shita tram station. We hoped to find Sofukuji Temple, but we missed. We walked to Yasaka Shrine, instead.

Just came back and went in the opposite way, Finally I could find Sofukuji Temple, the Chinese styled temple.

Finally we met the Glove Garden in the evening, nearly sunset. Glover Garden is a park in Nagasaki, Japan built for Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish merchant who contributed to the modernization of Japan in shipbuilding, coal mining, and other fields. It is located on the Minamiyamate hillside

There’re many beautiful western styled buildings.
The gardens reveal the living circumstances of Nagasaki's foreign residents during what is known as the period of foreign settlement.

I was really enjoyed a nice panorama of the Nagasaki city from the garden.

We said good bye to Nagasaki after visiting Glover Garden. 0ne day tour by ourselves was fun. Thank you Nagasaki.
