I am passionate for Onsen, especially in Beppu. At least twice per year I go there by bus from Hakata and I just love the view of mountains and rice field.

Beppu is well known for several types of Hot Springs with wonderful view, but my favorite one is Seikai Ryokan. What's so special? It has sea view!! It's so beautiful and you have the felling that you are inside the sea. Not to mention the wonderful meal they serve there, everything is so fresh colorful and beautiful, unforgettable!!!

If you like monkeys you cannot miss Takasakiyama Monkey Park, is a popular monkey reserve at the base of Mount Takasaki. Well, the first view shows a docile appearance, however it is recommended not to be "staring" or stand staring in the eye as they are wild free monkeys and they can feel surprising or feel threatened and possibly attack ...
However, following the recommendations has no danger. Although these monkeys come down the mountain just for the food offered periodically by park staff is also recommended that tourists do not feed the monkeys because they can present some aggressive attitudes.

It is very interesting how employees know most monkeys! They explain that like any bunch of wild monkeys, they have their "leader" or "head", and respecting a hierarchy where some have higher priorities than all other local monkeys respect.

On summer, I went to Higashi Shiiya Falls, it is considered one of the top 100 waterfalls in Japan. If you are like me and is not huge fan of hot days, you will love this place, because it is inside of mountain, the nature view is amazing and have pleasant weather. The place is so peaceful that i could feel my energy been restored.

I cannot wait to go to Beppu again!!
