As a baseball fan from Taiwan, a professional baseball game always make me feel exciting, no matter watch on TV or go to the stadium to watch a live ball game. In Asia, Japanese professional baseball league which consist of 12 teams, and all the teams have its home field in Japan. Among them Fukuoka was chosen by one of these 12 team which is Softbank Hawks team in 1989. The home stadium of Softbank Hawks team was Yahuoku Dome (annotation #1) which enabled in 1993 located in Central area of Fukuoka, and the capacity is over 35,000 persons and it is my destination in this journey.

Fortunately it was during the game season when I visited Fukuoka in 2013; after I arrived, I soon decided to make a plan of Fukuoka Dome visiting schedule to see the live baseball game before I leave Fukuoka. The transportation from my live location (near to Ijiri station) to the Dome was quite convenient and smooth which basically moved by the train of Nishitetsu line and transformed local bus to the destination. It totally take me less an hour to my destination and didn’t cost too much (hundreds Japanese yen I remembered. That’s why every tourists travel in Japan always admired Japanese transportation system).

After arrived Yahuoku Dome (see pic), the first scene I saw is the “handshake square” (see pic ). Here were gathered so many famous people’s hand model for people to take pictures. There also have a Sadaharu OH (annotation #2) (Museum next to the Yahuoku Dome, but I didn’t visit because of the ball game is coming up.

Enter the Dome; there are several things which surprised me a lot. First of all is the ventilation, in this field it’s not feel sultry at all, even this building has full capacity already. Second one is the route planning, despite there are over 30,000 people in this field, I didn’t feel crowded. Third one is the service in the Dome, the direction guider, information service, even the meal seller are very kind and polite (and the food of Dome is really refinement and delicious) (see pic.). The last one which also the unforgettable one for me is the atmosphere, during the ball game I found every person cheered to their favorite players and team with full passion like they are one of team members (see pic.). On the other hand, I was really lucky there is Taiwanese player played in start out order, and he played well and did contribution to his team. Also the most important thing is the team which I support won the game by 9:2 (see pic.)
Summary in this Yahuoku Dome visiting was really surprise me and I was really happy to watch the live ball game in my Fukuoka traveling.

#1 Dome means the indoor baseball field, there are five domes in whole Japan and Yahuoku Dome is one of them
#2 Sadaharu Oh is the record keeper of global baseball homerun, who hit 868 homeruns during his professional career.
