    Takachihokyou is a260- 330 feet tall cliff that was formed from a volcanic activity a long time ago and is one of Japan's leading tourist spots. There is a waterfall in the valley where the water and the rock formations create a fantastic scenery. Takachi Shrine was built around year 1900 and its main shrine and part of the collection were appointed as Nation's Important Property. Amanoiwato Shrine is a power spot derived from a Japanese myth. A mysterious atmosphere can be felt at the stage of the myth, Amanoyas Gawara.

    Nobeoka spicy noodles is a noodle dish made of secret soup with chili pepper, garlic, Chinese chive, minced meat, and egg. Nobeoka is the birthplace of this dish. Buckwheat flour and flour is combined to make a solidified, jelly noodles, which makes this dish special. This exciting, spicy flavor will be addictive once you try it. The original shop of Nobeoka spicy noodles "Masumoto" has spiciness scale of 1 to 25 to choose from. If you like spicy food, this is a dish to challenge.

    Sun messe Nichinan is located at the small hill of Nichinan coast where Moai statues from Seven Wonders of the World are recreated. With the blue ocean in the background, 7 Moai statues stand perfectly for a photography opportunity. Other areas like Obi Castle and old samurai residences are also recommended where a castle town's atmosphere still remains. Udo Shrine is a rare shrine located alongside the coast where the main shrine was built inside of a cave. You can challenge your luck by throwing a rock into a dent in the cliff.

    Aojima is a small island that is around less than a mile that seems to float off the coast of Aojima coast. The entire island is surrounded by wavy rocks called "Monster's washboard as these rocks were appointed as nation's natural monument. Aojima shrine is a holy island where only the priests could enter the island at one point in time. Miyazaki is the birth place of a popular chicken dish in Japan called "Chicken nanban." Japanese style fried chicken flavored with sweet and sour and tartar sauce is definitely worth eating.

    Ebino takabara is located north of Japan's first National Park, Kirishima Kinko Bay Park at the elevation of about 4000 feet. Surrounded by Kirishima's Karakunidake, Koshikidake, it is the trekking starting location for many of the surrounding mountains. Some of the trekking course can be completed in about 2 hours. The trees that changes the scenery every season fills the area with Miyama kirishima, that blooms in pink flowers in the spring, Japanese Pampas grass, and variety of trees selected as "100 Forests."

    Kirishima Jingu is a gorgeous Shinto shrine painted with eye catching red pigment. The main shrine is especially rare for its construction design and its interior is decorated gorgeously. Surrounding area is also well known as a power spot for its sacred cedar that is estimated to be 800 years old. Kirishima hot spring is located south west of Kirishima mountain range and Karakunidake. 9 hot spring quality occurs naturally and is said to cure many diseases.

It is a popular pork brand in Japan. The most representative dish are Shabushabu, where you can enjoy the sliced meat soaked in soup stock and sauce, and Japanese style pork cutlet. Premium, juicy pork can be enjoyed in most of the bars in Kagoshima prefecture.

    Sakurajima is known as the symbol of Kagoshima prefecture for its active volcano. Sakurajima can be reached from the city by ferry in about 15 minutes and can go around the island by car in about an hour. There is a lot to do on this island as Sakurajima can be viewed from the view observatory and Japan's largest foot bath can be enjoyed here. Kagoshima prefecture's main sweets is known as "Shirokuma (polar bear)," which is an ice cone drizzled with condensed milk and topped with fruit and sweet beans. There are several theories on how the name of the dessert came about such as it looks like a polar bear's face when you look at the snow cone from above.
