    Visits of hell's hell is referred to the 212 degrees Fahrenheit steam, thermal mud, and hot water squirts out from the ground as people could not even come near way back in time. There are total of 8 "hells" that can be viewed such as the lake of bright red, blood, and ocean of cobalt blue hell. Main dish is known as "steam of hell," where seafood and vegetables are steamed by the hot spring.

    Yufuin
    Yufuin is a popular hot spring for water's discharge rate which came second place nationally. Several hot spring facilities are populated in the area such as n open-air bath with a beautiful view of the mountains, and hatstrings you can visit for a day trip. Yunotsubo Kaidou is a Yufuin's main street filled with tourists throughout the year. Recommended for souvenir shopping such as sweets, gadgets, and pottery. Kinrin Lake is a mysterious lake where hot spring and spring water are pouring out from a part of the bottom of the lake. The view of the morning fog is especially beautiful during the fall and winter as it is said that the reason for the fog is due to the steam of the lake.
  • Kurokawa Onsen
    Kurokawa hot spring's charm is the old fashioned atmosphere of the inn's building and each hotel and inn's creative open- air bath. For hot spring visitors, Bathing Bill is great where you can enter 3 out of the 24 open-air bath of Kurokawa hot springs. One bill can be used per person and can be purchased at main hotels and visitor's centers. In the alleys of the hot springs shopping is great for gadgets and sweets. Exploring for dining and bathing is perfect for some relaxation.

    Hitoyoshi hotspring's specialty is in its spring quality that's great for making skin soft and smooth such as weak alkaline carbon dioxide. Hotspring inn has been built by Kuma river and there are 20 public baths that can be entered comfortably. Kuma river is known for one of Japan's major torrent and water rafting is a representative excursion here at Hitoyoshi. Feel free to challenge yourself with water rafting as one of the courses starts with 30 minutes. Galore of ramen shops can be explored as Hitoyoshi ramen is well known for its garlic flavor.

    A different kind of bathing can be enjoyed as you bathe yourself and sweat in sand heated by hot spring water. There are also open- air baths where you can enjoy the view of the mountains and choose your style of bathing. There are also other land forms such as the Ikeda Lake which was formed by a volcanic activity from a long time ago and an uninhabited island known as Chiringashima that floats off shore of the lake and is around 3km round. Chiringashima is a mysterious island where at low tide, a sand road appears and the island can be reached by foot during spring tide.

    South Kyushu's best shrine Kirishima Jingu consists of a gorgeous Shinto shrine and the road to the shrine with its contrasting deep green color. This shrine is old and rich with history as Japan's founding myth's main character "Ninigino Mikoto" is enshrined here. At Kirijima there are 5 hot spring villages that are rare nationally where 9 out of 10 of Earth's spring quality naturally occurs. Kirijima's well known sightseeing spots such as waterfalls, Thousand matted floor (Rocks), and Kirijima's oldest rock bath are also nearby.
