In Asia, Japanese professional baseball league which consist of 12 teams, and all the teams have its home field in Japan. Among them Fukuoka was chosen by one of these 12 team which is Softbank Hawks team in 1989. The home stadium of Softbank Hawks team was Yahuoku Dome (annotation #1) which enabled in 1993 located in Central area of Fukuoka, and the capacity is over 35,000 persons and it is my destination in this journey.

The beauty of purple. -Wisteria Tunnel-
It was a impromptu trip to this Wisteria Tunnel. The weather was chill and nice. Well, I am not a big fan of flowers, but I am definitely like this place. This garden was really amazing and breathtaking scenery.

Funtastic Fukuoka
Fukuoka is a wonderful introduction to Kyushu. It has the traditional and the modern and definitely something for everyone.
It was Sunday when I reached Fukuoka and that meant a trip to the Dazaifu Temangu Shrine. The main road leading to the shrine was abuzz with activity. The friendly shopkeepers called out to potential customers, school children thronged the street and tourists like me soaked up the festive atmosphere. There was no lack of things to try and buy and before I knew it, I caught a sweet scent of a delicious treat that I just couldn't resist.

"Finding me in Kyushu?"
Relaxing at a beach resort; pampering yourself at a spa, or joining a yoga retreat - these all are common ways we try to de-stress from our frantic modern city life, a life that seems to just spin on from one thing to another.
Originally from Hong Kong, I have also lived in New York, Shanghai, and Tokyo. So I believe I am quite a city person at the core. I had long heard about Kyushu's rich mix of nature and hospitality, but had never had the time to find out first hand... I was determined now to explore how Kyushu might offer a somewhat different way to unwind.

Kyushu Life 3 Months pass! But my journ…
Do you know we can change our visions by going out from our house to somewhere and exploring the world? Some people may interest in huge cities that have crowd of people but that's not me. I'm more interest in somewhere that have stories and Kyushu is one of the best place that I can go around to learn more about their story, remember it in my memory and also write it down in my blog (http://www.kazekim.com).
My journey started from October when I've arrived here in exchange student program for half a year. Let's see what's going on my last 3 months. What's happened in my new world and what I learn from my experience?

Yanagawa
Yanagawa city is located southwest of Fukuoka prefecture. It is well known mainly for typical local cuisine "unagi" (eel fish), that is prepare in a particular way, and for "donkobune" (boat) that rides across the river called "kawa kudari".
"Donkobune" is very interesting, that is manually powered by a long paddle and led by guide who will explain the history of the region throughout tour. This tour is available all year, and in winter the boats are equipped with "kotatsu" (a blanket with a heater), so that the passenger can enjoy more pleasant and cozy way. In addition, you can enjoy the view with the beauty of ancient architecture and natural beauty on the banks of the river and in the city.
